About the Scholarship

Our scholarship is being awarded on the basis of the student's commitment to service, leadership, and character. We want to honor the students who demonstrate excellence in their daily endeavors, whether giving back to their community, demonstrating outstanding character, or exhibiting obvious leadership qualities amongst their peers.

Following the initial nomination period, we want your input on our 2023 scholarship candidates. Your feedback will help us choose a winner who demonstrates a commitment to service, leadership, and character in our community and beyond.

Here's how it works...

San Joaquin County high school seniors must be nominated by a teacher, coach, guidance counselor, pastor, or youth leader to be considered for the 2023 Scholarship (immediate family members and relatives are not eligible to submit nominations).

To nominate an eligible senior, write a brief description of the student’s commitment to service, leadership, and character (approximately 250 words).

Submit the nomination via our website by March 12, 2023.

Family, friends, teammates, classmates, and neighbors are welcome and encouraged to share their feedback about the 2023 scholarship nominees.

Share feedback on the nominee's page between March 13 and March 26, 2023.

Our scholarship recipient will be selected by Brookside Optometric Group doctors based on their nomination and community feedback. The scholarship recipient will be announced the week of April 3, 2023 on this page and the Brookside Optometric Group Facebook Page.
