Our 2022 Scholarship Program featured nine amazing nominees. After extensive discussion, the Doctors of Brookside Optometric Group have selected Priscila Alcaraz as our 2022 Scholarship Recipient.
To each of our nominees, thank you for participating this year. It has been an honor to read about each of your lives, volunteer efforts, academic achievements, goals for the future, and most of all your outstanding character. We wish each of you the best of luck as you graduate and pursue your education and careers!

We want to honor the students who demonstrate excellence in their daily endeavors, whether giving back to their community, demonstrating outstanding character, or exhibiting obvious leadership qualities amongst their peers.
Following the initial nomination period, we want your input on our 2022 scholarship candidates. Your feedback will help us choose a winner who demonstrates a commitment to service, leadership, and character in our community and beyond.
San Joaquin County high school seniors must be nominated by a teacher, coach, guidance counselor, pastor, or youth leader to be considered for the 2022 Scholarship (immediate family members and relatives are not eligible to submit nominations).
To nominate an eligible senior, write a brief description of the student’s commitment to service, leadership, and character (approximately 250 words).
Submit the nomination via our website by March 20, 2022.
Family, friends, teammates, classmates, and neighbors are welcome and encouraged to share their feedback about the 2022 scholarship nominees.
Share feedback on the nominee's page between March 21 and April 10, 2022.
Our scholarship recipient will be selected by Brookside Optometric Group doctors based on their nomination and community feedback. The scholarship recipient will be announced on April 22, 2022 on this page and the Brookside Optometric Group Facebook Page.
This scholarship is open to students currently enrolled as a senior in high school in San Joaquin County for the 2022 graduating year. Students may be enrolled in public or private schools, or be home-schooled. Nominations must be successfully uploaded to the entry page by midnight on March 20, 2022.
To be considered for the scholarship, all students must be nominated by a teacher, coach, guidance counselor, pastor, or youth leader (immediate family members and relatives are not eligible to submit nominations). Nominations will be posted on the contest website and receive community feedback during the period from March 21 - April 10, 2022.
One scholarship winner will be chosen by Brookside Optometric Group doctors based on their nomination and community feedback. The scholarship and funds will be presented to the winner in person in early May 2022 — the exact date to be determined by the winner.
