Marla Carrillo-Kelly
Diego Bustamente's Assistant Principal

I had the pleasure of teaching Diego his freshman year at Lincoln High School in my Spanish class. From the start, he stood out in regard to his academic abilities. Diego has taken almost every AP and/or honors course that Lincoln High has to offer and has earned top grades in these classes. His devotion and dedication to his academics have earned him the top spot in his graduation class. Although he makes it look effortless, it has taken discipline and hard work to be able to earn this spot. Diego’s dedication to his academics is only the beginning of his extraordinary abilities. Diego has been able to balance his classwork and extracurricular activities very well. Diego is a dedicated musician, playing a variety of instruments proficiently. Diego also has made the time to participate in a variety of volunteering opportunities and volunteer for many local community organizations. Every year Diego has earned a Commitment to the Community recognition (meaning he volunteers at least 100 years during the academic year) due to the passion he has to better his community.
