Elyse Glover's Youth Leader
I would like to nominate this young lady for her commitment to service. I met Elyse at a Youth Study Group that helps elementary students with homework help and tutoring. Elyse volunteered her time to help students between the ages of 6 to 12 with math, reading and grading homework. She has a passion for helping others and genuinely enjoys learning new things. As she would come to our program our staff would always say Ms. Summer, Elyse is a natural with the students. She is very engaging and patient. The students started to show more independence in their work assignments and their teamwork. Elyse posses these skillsets and it was evident that her engaging personality spilled over with the children in the program. I had time on my calendar to meet with Elyse to hear about her career goals. It was very interesting because not only does she aspire to become an OBGYN, and teach youth health education classes to help pay her way through college along with scholarships. Elyse shared that during the holidays that she volunteer time in her community at Saint Mary Dining hall during Thanksgiving and Christmas serving hot meals. Elyse was also selected for her leadership and academics to intern for the San Joaquin County District Attorney office for a summer and she really enjoyed it. During this time Elyse shared that she was able to hear court cases, debate on topics with other interns and also understand the legal system and many of the challenges that our community face and learning about the programs we offer to help keep our community safe. What I did not know is that, not only did Elyse volunteer hours to give back, that she was also working a part-time job at Walmart to help her save to pay for college. This is her last year and unfortunately, with the economic crisis our county is experiencing at this time, there is no guarantee that Elyse will be able to walk the stage with her class at Lincoln because the schools are shut down, and to fulfill some of the expenses for college she had a plan that at the time was solid, but this put her in a hardship. Elyse expressed how important it was for her to save up for college and wanted to focus more of her efforts to give back in the community through her volunteer work , helping others and educating on the gift of giving back to the community. Thank you.
I Truly believe many doors will open for Elyse, due to her having the motivation to accomplish all her future goals. Elyse is very inspiring to herself and others, which helps other to view the good things that need to be accomplished. Elyse has experienced many great opportunities which was very challenging at a young age, but she strived and succeeded. I would love to support her on her chance to become a Leader of choice because of Awesome accomplishments of support of others in many areas. I believe she will be a great leader, and set an positive example for others.
Elyse would be the ideal candidate to receive this scholarship because there is no doubt that she performs above and beyond most people in her age group. Her character is superb. You brand would DEFINITELY be enhanced to have her name behind it.
This is my neice and I want to say that it is with honor that Elyse was nominated she has been a great example for many children and teenagers since she was very little. She has always been a leader in her family she told me when she was young that she wanted to me a doctor to help people and I am so proud of her that she stuck with her plan and is still driving on that path she has not changed a beat. She is very consistent and driven. I know that she will be one of the best OBGYNs. I just hope she come back to her city after college and continue giving back she has such a great heart and this nomination is very deserving. Congratulations ELyse. We are so proud of you and you continue on and leave the way for your sisters. Love you

I would like to nominate my little cousin Elyse. She comes from a hard working loving family. She’s also very smart & bright. She has the potential to do anything that her heart desires. I know that she deserves it & will do an awesome job for sure. Go Elyse 🎉
I have known Elyse since her freshman year at Lincoln High School. As her school counselor, I have enjoyed working with her in the school setting. Elyse is a positive and self driven young lady. She has been successful with her high school courses and will meet the requirements to apply directly to a four year college. I have been impressed with her enrollment in Delta college courses concurrently with her high school classes that will allow her to transfer to Sacramento State in the near future. Elyse shared with me during one of our first meetings that her dream was to work in the medical field. I have no doubt for her success with any of the goals that she has set for herself.
I cannot express how delightful and inspirational this young woman's work ethic, optimism, and overall personality are and how they positively impact everyone around her. Elyse is one of my 12th grade English students at Lincoln High School and it has been an absolute honor teaching her. Each day this young woman comes in with smile and an excellent attitude. She is highly motivated as she refuses to let any obstacles or large workloads stand in the way of her success. I was astounded at her ability to excel in both her high school classes and her dual enrollment courses at the local community college. Her work is always thoughtful and goes above and beyond the expectations and requirements. She always offers insightful responses to questions and displays collegiate level writing and reading skills. This young lady has an incredibly bright future and I guarantee she will not disappoint if given this opportunity. Many people do not realize the daily struggles that a student like Elyse unjustly faces due to the plethora of flaws in her community and within society as a whole. However, she continuously fights this uphill a battle, a battle filled with seemingly insurmountable feats, and she does it all with a smile. I cannot think of a better candidate to recommend for this opportunity, and I know whole-heartedly, if given the chance, Elyse will make everyone see everything I am stating here. She is a pleasure to have in class and I am honored at the opportunity to take part in nominating this brilliant young woman for such an excellent program. She is the perfect fit for her desired career in medicine, as her mixture of intelligence, creativity, compassion, and overall warmth toward others make her an optimal fit. Elyse's potential and drive know no bounds and this opportunity will be an excellent way for continue on the path to her dream of taking care of others. If given this opportunity it will not only help Elyse. but all will inspire more disadvantaged kids in similar situations to strive to be something greater, like Elyse. So I strongly recommend Elyse for this wonderful opportunity and am once again honored to offer this nomination Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you, Cody McBride.

This young lady is very hardworking, always eager to help and extremely polite. She is driven and goal oriented. she is a great asset to her community. Congratulations on your nomination you deserve it and more.
Ms. Glover is the epitome of a well-rounded, socially conscious student. She excels in school – maintaining her honor roll status since middle school – and enriches her academic experience through extracurricular and community service opportunities. This includes – but is not limited to – her involvement in the Black Student Union, volunteering at local shelters and children’s organizations, and completing a competitive, summer internship with the District Attorney’s Office.
Ms. Glover challenges herself to be the best version of herself each day in all that she does. She thrives in the present and has great college prospects. With college on the horizon, she positions herself to thrive at the collegiate level by completing college-level courses while enrolled in high school. More than that, she maintains a 4.0 GPA, has worked part-time for two years, and participates on her school’s track and basketball teams.
I’m proud of who Ms. Glover is and the amazing student and community member she has become. She is an extraordinary asset to her school and local community.
Elyse, where do you even start. For starters I want to say congrats for not only being nominated but for all these accomplishments you have succeeded in life. I’ve known her for a handful of years, plus. She’s always been goal driven since I’ve known her. Most teenagers her age don’t even know what they want to be or go in life. Elyse on the other hand does not belong in that category of “other teenagers”. She’s smart, goal driven and determined and she for sure doesn’t let anything get in her way. I’m excited to see all the other blessings that’s coming your way. Your mother is doing an amazing job! Keep up the good work Elyse! You’re a wonderful role model!!
Elyse Glover is more than deserving for this nomination. Every time I see her she has a big smile on her face that warms your heart. Elyse is very kind and considerate. Driven, hard working, and well rounded. What I like the most about Elyse is that she believes in her heart that she can accomplish anything that she sets out to do; and she does it. She is a great role model for my daughter to look up to, and every other young girl in our community.
Elyse You going places kiddo. Keep up the hard work and I vouch for you. Congratulations And I hope all your dreams in wishes come true!
I’ve known this young lady her entire life and watching her grow up you could just tell she was going to be an amazing young lady. She’s the type of young lady that is a true leader, but has a compassionate side for people that need help. Elyse is a special person and the world could sure use people like her right know. I’m proud to be in her life.
Elyse you are such a beautiful and intelligent young lady. You deserve everything you’ve Worked for. Keep up the good work. Congratulations.
I would like to nominate Elyse Glover for this wonderful opportunity. I cannot express within the limits of this short description all of the attributes that Elyse Possess. I’ve volunteered along side Elyse and watched her interact with peers. She has every quality of a natural leader. When it’s time take the initiative, she does with gusto and determination. She’s honest, friendly and considerate. She takes the time to listen and make sure everyone is included in the conversation then returns with a thoughtful and inclusive decision. Elyse is a tireless advocate in the community and spends much of her free time helping the youth, which is our future!
Well,Well! It doesn’t surprise me that someone was smart enough to nominate Elyse for this wonderful opportunity. I wish it had been me I am one of Elyse Great Aunts and I say this with a BIG SMILE on my face and with GREAT PRIDE. It is a honor to have such a beautiful young lady in our family. When I say Elyse is beautiful, I’m not only speaking of her beauty on the outside but ALSO her BEAUTY that reigns from the inside. Anyone that has ever had the opportunity to meet Elyse would have to agree with me. As an adult (me) I have watched her over the years and I’ve often wondered “how did one individual grow to be so motivating, inspirational, thoughtful, delightful, selfless, self motivating, kind, POSITIVE, friendly” These or only a small amount of words I have thought of for her over her young years of life. I could go on but I think you get my point. I have learned so many things from this young lady. I know that Elyse is a role model, not only for the young people in our community, not only for the young people in our family BUT also for me as an adult and you that are reading my words. We can take all of her qualities and apply them in our own lives. Thank you Elyse for giving me the opportunity everyday to look at you and believe that I can make a difference because YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE in our community, in our family, IN OUR WORLD.
Thank you for your consideration,
I would like to nominate Elise Glover, she is an intelligent and outgoing young lady who puts passion and dedication into everything she does.
It is my pleasure to honor and recommend Elyse Glover. I have known Elyse for a year and half, and was delighted to serve as her direct supervisor at Wal-Mart.
On a personnel level, Elyse is a young women of strong character who is fully embodies all the traits you look for in a student.
Elyse is very productive in dealing with problems and is effective at anticipating potential issues before they surface. She has a strong desire for continual learning and for accepting new and challenging projects.
I have always enjoyed Elyse’s easy and confident communication style and her ability to deal positively with personal skill areas that required further development.
It is with high confidence that I recommend Elyse for this.
It is with great pleasure to recommend Elyse Glover for this scholarship. I am a volunteer worker that sponsor’s W.E.A.V.E for battered women in our community specifically focusing on young teens. I have had the pleasure working with Elyse Glover on several community involvement activities and programs.
I see that the scholarship is intended to go to someone who demonstrates leadership, community involvement and strong leadership skills. Elyse Glover fits these guidelines perfectly. This past year she took on the primary responsibility for our programs role in the enterprising young people. She collaborated with other leaders and tailored the experiences of others to come up with creative ideas to help onboard others and share some of the best practices within the community to help with donations, fundraising and involving those who want to do more to help others.
Elyse is also gifted in recognizing and bringing out the best in others and able to supervise others on the team.
It is rare to meet a high school student with this type of commitment to community involvement and utilizing her leadership skills in a mature way that was well thought out and organized to achieve a result. At the end we were able to raise $573.00 in funds that were donated to W.E.A.V.E to help battered women here at the Sacramento store on Arden way. I believe that she is a very strong candidate for this scholarship.
We would like to take a moment to recognize our daughter, Elyse Glover for her hard work within the community, her leadership, and for her commitment to give back. Since Elyse was a young child, when we would gather around for the holidays, she was always looking at ways to give back. She would offer to donate to children within our court during the time we resided in Reno, Nevada.
At the age of 8, Elyse volunteered at the locate food bank about 10 hours to feed those in need of food during Christmas. Each time she would serve a plate to someone at the shelter, she would end it with Thank you for all that you do and for allowing us to serve you during the holiday’s its with please that we are joining you for dinner. I knew then that Elyse was someone truly special and would devote time to give back to others and make it her very own mission to do so. Following her elementary years, Elyse continued her legacy of giving and joined a leadership program at Morada Middle.
Elyse’s first year in 7th grade, she had already come up with plans to help charities so she spend most of her time during the weekend and after school fund raising for the Saint Mary’s dining hall in Stockton. Elyse would make cookies and donate items in her room to raise funds because she wanted to make sure that the children at Saint Mary’s had socks and toys for Christmas. Because there were not a lot donations we would contribute to the funds to make sure all the children had socks and a toy.
Elyse took on this leadership role and contacted Mario Serrano, who is one of the supervisors at the dining hall. Elyse shared her plan and what she would be doing to help raise these funds and Mario expressed his gratitude and appreciation. He provided Elyse a head count for this location of children and from that, we were able to put together gift bags from the dollar tree and provide gifts (age appropriate) to give back. This has always been an important part of what Elyse did for others and clearly, when we learned her career of choice it all made sense. I am excited that Elyse has decided on becoming an OBGYN because there are so many children who are not educated health education. I am so proud of Elyse as she continued on this path throughout high school and has sense volunteered over 120 hours from 9th grade through senior year at several locate charities, volunteer events and shelters. Elyse is an excellent example and demonstrated a high level of leadership and commitment involvement that exemplified her passion for giving back. Thank you Elyse for all that you do and for your work within the community. I truly hope that once you are done college that you come back to the City of Stockton where there are so many hidden treasures for passionate leaders such as yourself that can make a difference.
I am writing this reference for my former student, Elyse Glover. I have known Elyse since her 8th grade year at Morada middle for about a year. In my capacity as a teacher, Elyse took English and Leadership from me and earned superior grades in those classes.
Based on her leadership, grades, and class participation, I’d rate Elyse academically strong and one of my top students. As a teacher, it is with pleasure to talk to student achievements as these are the easiest letters to write about when you are molding a future leader and we all know that teaching is not the easiest job.
Elyse was one of my students that made it pleasant to be at work knowing that I had a class where students devoted time, effort and commitment to excellence every day through leadership and engagement others sought out students like Elyse to guide them through some of the assignments. Elyse was always willing and never worked in a way that she knew more than others it was her approach that was so welcoming and inviting where others would follow. For this year, we worked on class community service projects and Elyse was so helpful to me in collecting and organizing the food for the food drive here at Morada. Because Elyse had prior experience with volunteering it made this project run smoothly.
I would like to “Thank You” for your leadership, commitment to excellence, and service. It was truly an honor to have student like you to be part of my class. I recommend Elyse Glover. IF her performance in my class is any indication of how she’d perform I would put my coins on Elyse Glover each time. Elyse would be a strong candidate for this scholarship.
I would like to nominate Elyse E. Glover for the Brookside Optometric Scholarship. Elyse has always possessed the skills and ability to be a leader. For many years she has been inspirational to our youth. While knowing Elyse for many years she has always been inspiring to herself as well as others. This is why I am willing to help support her on her new found journey. She would be an impeccable candidate for this scholarship. Not only is she driven but she is hardworking, inspirational and an exceptional student. What sticks out to me the most about Ms. Glover is that she transcends in school. She has maintained her position as a honor roll student all four years of high school and has also taking courses at Delta Junior College where she has also excelled. While still having the ambition to continue forth with volunteering at our local shelters and tutoring the youth. It is without a doubt I have chosen to nominate Ms. Elyse Glover for this scholarship.
Elyse, best wishes and may you continue to thrive for greatness.
I would like to nominate my granddaughter, Elyse Glover for this scholarship. I have observed and watched my granddaughter grow into a fine young lady. She has always been very caring for others. I can whole-heartedly say that Elyse will not disappoint and is a young lady of honor, when she sets her heart and mind to doing something she gives it 1000% and I have seen this from her since she was a little girl. Elyse has accomplished more than I have seen some twice her age accomplish and much of came from her own abilities to want to help and make change within our community.
As a young child picking Elyse up and her sisters from school I would drive them through some of the less fortunate areas of town so that they can see that in the City of Stockton, we have so much more that we can do as a community to make Stockton a better place to live, work and raise children. Elyse has such a passion for giving back and helping others and as I went through and read all of these post of her caring, kind and giving ways I said, “that’s my girl” she has found her purpose and becoming an OBGYN and wanting to start with the youth is a smart place to start.
Education is key and I find that Elyse had demonstrated her leadership, commitment, gift of giving back and service not just from what I know because I have seen it, but because many others have also taken a moment out of their busy day to share something about my granddaughter. Her demonstrated leadership and vision have made a positive impact on our family and from what I have read on others.
I have no doubt that Elyse will continue this mission when she attends Sacramento State University. Thank you granddaughter I am so glad to see that you are following your passion. Love Grandma
I am nominating my sister because she is so great and she is really committed to giving back and she really cares for people. She is very caring and loving and has such a big heart we love you Elyse from Jadyn GLover
I would like to nominate my sister ElySe GLover. I am the baby sister. I think ELyse should get this award because she care about people and I know that it will be used for a great cause. She is going to be a doctor and she will be great. Love your sister, La Heaven GLover
