Jacob Marquez's Teacher

Jacob enjoys volunteering at his former schools’ events. He has helped out at South/West Park to put on their “Math Night”. He has helped Poet Christian run booths at their Carnival Fundraiser event. Whenever a volunteer is needed for a school event, he is willing to go help out. During the summer he has volunteered as a teacher aid in summer school in a Kinder class, and has also volunteered at Vacation Bible School, a week long program for elementary school aged children. He has taken it upon himself to tutor other high school students that need help in math. Also, he received a 5 on his AP Calculus AB exam. I have been Jacob's math teacher for 3 years and he has been a joy to teach for those years.

Jacob is a kind hearted souls. He is a person who will stand up to give you his chair to make sure you are well taken care of. I have known Jacob his entire life, and have witnessed him help out as a willing volunteer in school events as well as Church events. He cooperated with the Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive, helped gather diapers for the Pregnancy Resource Center Diaper Dash, make sure that children had gifts for Christmas with the Brighter Christmas Toy Drive. He also participated in our Church's Youth Group on and off, making sure school assignments were not affected.

Jacob is an enthusiastic, generous young man who is always willing to help others. He was always very polite and pleasant, and an enthusiastic learner, when he was in elementary school. He has grown not only in height, but also in character, having shown his generosity with his time and his talents.

Jacob is a former student and one in which I keep in touch. He is patient, kind, hard-working and dedicated to philanthropy.

A thoughtful thinker, he will show you his sense of humor once he feels comfortable. He desires to work hard, and do great things for his community. He appreciates family and his community. He will be an ideal candidate to represent this award.

I would like to nominate Jacob Marquez for this scholarship.

Jacob is a bright young man with a kind and gentle heart. He is an honor & AP student at Tracy High School who will be graduating this year. He is in the International Baccalaureate Program (IB) and will receive his IB certification upon graduation. In the Fall, Jacob will be heading to college to pursue a degree in Computer Science at San Francisco State University.

Jacob has always had a sense of community. From a young age, he was always helping others. During his years in school, he volunteered his time with his Catholic Church Youth Group, Vacation Bible Camp, Carnival Fundraiser at Poet Christain, Mathnasium, or as a teacher's aid during summer school.

I have known Jacob Marquez his entire life, and I am proud of the young man he has become. He would be an excellent recipient of your scholarship!
