ryen is extremely wise. i’ve seen him come along side people who may not know what they’re doing and instead of taking over, he teaches and empowers them to do it themselves. ryen cares for the individual and he is intentional in his actions and conversations with them. i’ve seen ryen serve joyfully in many different contexts and i have seen his heart for people shine through every singe time.
Then is absolutely deserving of this scholarship. He’s so smart, driven, humble and the true definition of someone that anyone can count on. He’s incredibly selfless and there isn’t anyone out there that I know whom would deserve this scholarship more than he does.
Ryen is amazing! I’ve watched him grow up and turn into a responsible and caring young man. He has a servant heart who would give the shirt off of his back to help someone. He is so deserving of this scholarship!
Ryen is a respectful and ambitious young man. He is responsible beyond his years with a deep commitment to family and community. He is very much a leader among his peers. He has given his heart and time to various mission trips with his church youth group over many years.
We cannot wait to see him continue to grow into the man he will be in college .
We have known Ryen about four years. Since we have known him, he has been a very respectful, well-mannered young man. He is hard working, which we can say from experience as well reports from others. Ryen is comfortable with adults, gives a firm handshake, looks you in the eye, and makes conversation. He is involved in the Youth Group at our church, going with them on Mexico Mission Trips each of high school years, as well as serving around the church when requested. We feel honored to have watched him grow into the young man he is today and believe he will do good things in his future.
Ryen is an outstanding young man. I have known Ryen for 8 years through our church and youth baseball. Ryen is a very hard worker with attention to detail. He leads by example and his work ethic commands respect from his superiors and peers alike. Ryen is very respectful and polite towards all. He never shys away from work. Ryen takes his goals very seriously and is relentless in pursuing. It is an honor to support Ryen for this scholarship opportunity.
Ryen is an amazing young man. We have know Ryen for two years and in that time, he has made a huge impact on our son, Zachary, who is 13. Despite his busy schedule with sports and school and church activities, Ryen checks in with Zach on how he is doing, sends him verses to think about, and encourages Zach in his day to day life. There aren't very many high school seniors who invest that much time in a seventh grader. Ryen is selfless, encouraging, positive, caring, friendly, and a very hard worker. He is mature beyond his years and has a very bright future ahead of him!
Ryen is a considerate, kind, intentional young man. He leads his peers with his words and a wonderful example. He is kind ans gentle to those younger and smaller then he is and respectful and helpful to those older than he is. He is intrinsically motivated to do well and brings out the best in those around him. He is someone you can trust to do the right thing even when no one is looking. He is extremely deserving of this scholarship!
We have known Ryen for the last 3 years and watched him become such an awesome young man and so responsible and great with children and such a wonderful mentor as well. He also did some work for us and was very proactive in seeing a need and filling the need. He such a respectful young man and has great eye contact and has such a love and Passion for life and the love of God.
Ryen is a young man with leadership skills, generous heart and support to his family and friends. It is a blessing to know Ryen and see his strengths grow. His interactions with my son and family have always been upstanding and helpful. He has impressed us with his caring and considerate personality.
I've known Ryen for many years, from mentoring him in church to being a close family friend. He is the embodiment of integrity and although he is many years younger than me, he is someone that I aspire to be like. His perseverance in the face of struggle is amazing and while he has had his issues with knowing what he wants to do in the future, he is motivated to seek advise and counsel. He has a very kind and caring heart and is extremely intentional. He deserves the world, and honestly the world deserves someone like him.
Ryen is very kind and considerate and hard worker. He volunteers many hours at our church as well as balancing family, school, sports and work. He can be counted on to give “a little extra” when others want to quit. He is not only respected by his peers but he is a hero to a lot of little younger children because he takes the time to notice them.
Ryen is an amazing young man. He is kind, caring and very hard working. Ryen is a leader among the kids at our church. They look him to him and respect him.
Ryen is a scholar, an athlete, and a missionary who spreads his love for the Lord. I can’t think of any young man more deserving than Ryen Loy!
It always catches my attention when a young person, these days, shows joy in helping out and interacting with adults and peers in a positive way. Ryen is an awesome young man. You can tell by talking with him that he is on his way to a great future that focuses as much on serving those around him as he does on his own future endeavors. This young man is very deserving of this scholarship.
Is an extremely polite, loving, strong young man. He has matured and gone against the grain standing firm as a Christian at school and everywhere he goes. I have seen him grown into a young man dedicated to help others and his community!
Ryen was my former neighbor, and a boy whom my son adored along with Ryen’s little brother . I truly miss having him next door, especially for my son, he would always want to hang out with them. Ryen comes from an amazing family who would do anything for each other. Having known them for other several years now, I have to just say this we miss having Ryen around! I am so excited to see what the future holds ahead for him. He will respect any one and is very dependable when we asked him for help. I know my son misses seeing him from always helping out, having their nerf gun wars in the front yards, and playing baseball. He will do great in life with no doubt. I’ll be taking my son to one of his senior’s baseball games this year! Ryen is an outgoing person and is capable of doing anything. He deserves this!
Ryen is an amazing kid with a huge heart. He loves his family, serving others, and putting his best into everything he does. I have had the privilege of knowing Ryen over the last several years and am continually impressed with his character and I cannot wait to see the big things he does in the future!
Ryen is a great member of the church and community. He helps when needed and it is evident that he loves his family and church.
I have had the pleasure of watching Ryen grow up into the wonderful young man that he is! He is responsible and respectful and has such a big heart! He is not only an outstanding student, but also an athlete and a servant of the Lord. He has served on several mission trips in Mexico, how many teenagers willingly spend their time helping others in need, Ryen is one of the few! Ryen is a caring older brother and a wonderful example to his younger siblings. He is very deserving of this scholarship!
I have known Ryen for 6 years and there is no one I am more glad to have met. Ryen is extremely kind, unselfish, and one of the hardest workers that I know. He doesn’t take anything for granted and has worked for everything he has. Ryen doesn’t get in trouble and always leaves a positive impact on everyone he meets. I can not recommend him enough.
Ryen is a great student, someone you would love to work with, a caring friend & and all-around great human. He’s a person who’s more than deserving of this scholarship and every scholarship he could possibly qualify for!
I've watched Ryen mature over the last several years, and I can say he is at the top of my list of young men who reflect what any man, young or old, should be. In this day of wishy-washy, weak, irresponsible and full of excuses young men, Ryen is none of that. Ryen's spine is straight as he displays character, integrity, honesty, straight forwardness, kindness, respect, and politeness. Ryen walks the King's Road which is always walking on the peak of the mountain. He doesn't let anyone pull him down from the peak, rather he pulls others up to the peak so they can walk the King's Road with him. I only have daughters; if I had a son, I would want Ryen to be him. I respect Ryen for the young man he is, and respect is a word I use very sparingly on people in society today. The other candidates no doubt are qualified for this scholarship, and I don't know them, but I just have to believe there's a degree of separation that puts Ryen in a very special spot.
I have known Ryen for over 7 years as a friend of the family. I have watched him grow into a fine young man who respects others and his actions reflect that conviction. He is always polite to his elders, his peers and those younger than him and ready to help in anyway he is asked.
He is a natural leader and peers desire to follow him. This scholarship will be valuable in Ryen's growth to be a strong leader in his adult life!
Ryen is one of the most passionate and hardworking guy I know whether it comes to sports or helping lead young kids at our jr high group and helping give them a positive atmosphere to thrive. I have worked with Ryen on many things from church and work and he is someone I can count on to get things done when they need to be done. Ryen is a really good young man who shows a lot of character and I can’t wait to see what the future had in store for him.
I met Ryen through an old friend, his step mom, who used to live next to me. I saw her again later in my teen years at our local church. I wasn’t formally introduced to Ryen at first. At youth nights I would see him interacting with everyone else with a kind and charismatic manor. He would constantly ask to help out with setting stuff up and always , Always, made sure everyone was included in everything as well as having fun or enjoying there time at the least. His brothers and sisters mean so much to him. His faith is what powers his compassion for people.
Ryen is a utility man as well, something he gets from his father I’m sure. When we built houses in Mexico together we spent a lot of time together, talking about our faith and the involvement that people should be making to help others. He later became a leader at his local HS FCA. I could go on with his faith but as I can see at additional comments that it’s been stressed he is a man of God.
Now as a man. He is a man of responsibility and integrity. He is in my opinion a sheepdog. If something isn’t right, he will stand up and voice it. If someone isn’t getting treated correctly then he will delegate the situation to where it’s corrected. He’s not a man of violence. At one point he wanted to join the military because he’s seen a lot of the people and what they’ve done for people on our homeland. But something came over him. He realized that there’s so much more that he could do back home to show his love for everyone and his commitment to God and country.
He is a great friend and brother to me. If anyone deserves a scholarship it would definitely be this man. He is someone that other people will want to immulate. I wish I could see him more often because he is always finding new ways to surprise you and better himself.
I don’t have enough words to describe how good of man Ryen is. You only wish that you can see more people like Ryen because the world would be a whole lot kinder and caring for each other.
Ryen is a smart, kind, and selfless young man with a servant heart. He has a very bright future ahead of him. He deserves this scholarship.
Ryen has a kind and loving heart. Willing to help others asking nothing in return. He has a devotion to his family and God that is rare in young today. I'm proud to call them is amazing boy my grandson.
Ryen is a great candidate for this scholarship. He is a hard worker.. great people skills and devoted to his family and God. If he was given the chance I believe he could go far and I can’t wait to see where life will take him with the hard work or devotion he will put into his studies. He is an amazing nephew and I’m proud to be his Auntie!
Ryen is an amazing young man. He works hard and strives to do his best. He is the kind of young man that can be depended on to get things done. He is a natural leader, and tries to get those around him to be successful. If there is a project that needs to be done, Ryen tends to be one of the first there and last to leave. It has been a pleasure to get to know him.
Ryen is a special young man. He carry’s such a grace on his life, with natural leadership fundamentals.
Often times in life there are those given a opportunity and tend to waste it. Ryen is “NOT” that person. He is definitely a great candidate for the scholarship program.
I truly believe in my heart, this young man will take a blessing and use it to impact this world in some fashion. He’s just that type of human being. Words could never express the unique individual he is. He’s truly a special person. This scholarship can be game changing to add to his already, and current plans for life. He’s deserving of this, and will use it for the purpose intended for. I personally nominate Ryen, not just because I know him, but as a Campus Minister, I’ve wotnessed him turn something that appeared small, into something “BIG” and amazing.
I’ve known Ryan for most of his life and watching him grow into the man who he is destined to be has been a pleasure. His giving heart to his direct community and communities a far has been an inspiration to myself and others. His dream to be a fireman was a goal set some time ago and he’s worked hard at making his dream come true. I know with the help of this scholarship he will become a fireman and will keep serving his community!
Ryen and my son have been friends and sports mates since elementary school. He has always been polite and respectful since a young boy and now as a young man. As a parent, he is the type of young man you want your children to surround themselves with. He loves God and it shows in how he lives his life with honesty and integrity. I would highly recommend Ryen for this scholarship. He is well deserving of it.
I've known Ryen for about two years as one of his Senior High Youth Group leaders and have worked along side him as a leader in the Junior High ministries. He is kind, intelligent, thoughtful, sincere in all that he does and a great leader. There is never a task too small for Ryen to do and he leads by example. He is genuine in his faith and wants others to know his Lord. Ryen and his father started Fellowship of Christian Athletes at his high school as a way to connect with other christians and share his faith with those who do not know Jesus. He has a heart to serve and care for others. I believe that Ryen is an amazing student for Brookside Optometry to invest in. By easing the financial burden of college he will be able to focus more on his education towards becoming a fire fighter. I am confident Ryen will do great things serving the members of his community and helping them stay safe.
When it comes to deserving people Ryen Loy meets the criteria hands down, or in his case hands up with humbling prayers to the amazing man above. He is honest, caring and truthfully an inspirational individual to be able to count on. I’ve had the pleasure of watching this young man turn from a rambunctious fun loving child, to the caring smart young man he was always destined to be. Ryen is definitely a hard working individual who works hard for everything he has and harder for everything he wants. He is such a motivated young man and will shortly be achieving all of his goals and dreams. I’m both proud and amazed and if anyone deserves this scholarship it’s him. I’m honored to know such a bright and talented individual and I’ll be front and center cheering him on throughout his many achievements to come in his most promising life.
Ryen is a stud. I've known him since he was in the 7th grade and I'm so proud of the man he's becoming. He's a hard worker, and shows great responsibility and maturity. He genuinely cares about others--which is rare. He has a heart of gold. My favorite thing about Ryen is his devotion to God. He loves serving in the church and sharing God's love with those around him. Proud to say I know this man!
Ryen has always impressed me in many ways. He is very respectful and can comfortably carry a conversation with adults, peers, and youngsters. He has demonstrated a work ethic that is increasingly uncommon. He has a wide range of experiences as he as stepped out in faith to serve in FCA, go on mission trips to Mexico, and even abroad. He carries himself with grace and humility. Frankly, even as an adult that is considered “successful” by most standards, I see qualities in him that I admire and wish that I had. I feel he is deserving of this scholarship and believe it would help him to further his development into an outstanding, well rounded man with the heart of a servant.
I have been blessed to teach and coach Ryen over the past four years. I am excited to see what the future holds for him. He strives to grow and learn from his life experiences and pass those on to both his peers and those he mentors. He has a kind heart, tenacity, and strives to be a servant to God and His people.
Ryen is an exceptional young man who stands apart from the rest of his peers. He exudes leadership qualities that is lacking in a lot of young people. I’m amazed at his rescillence and ability to overcome setbacks. I’m thankful that I was able to meet and interact with Ryen. It gives me hope as I work with thousands of teenagers who are lost and have no drive towards their goals or their faith. I know that this young man will be a world class leader and influencer.

It has been a pleasure watching Ryen grow up into the young man he has become. He is consistently volunteering his time to help others not only in his community but everywhere he goes. Ryen exudes positivity, a willingness to help and leadership traits. Ryen embodies what it means to be a role model and to say he is deserving of this scholarship would be an understatement. I am thankful to have the opportunity to be apart of this young man's life and excited to see what the lord has in store for him.
I’ve known Ryen since he was in junior high. Ryen is one of the greatest teenage boys I know. His character and values are rare to come by in his generation. He is no doubt an admirable leader among his peers and sets an excellent example for his younger siblings. Ryen is a hard worker that gives his absolute best in everything he does. He is not ashamed of his beliefs and is not afraid to stand up for what he knows is right. He loves the Lord and demonstrates this through volunteering at church, honoring his parents, and living his life in a way that clearly shows he is a follower of Christ. He puts 110% into everything he does and I have no doubt he will do the same in college. I feel privileged to know him and recommend him for this scholarship.
I’ve known Ryen and his family since he was 10 years old. He and my boys are friends on the baseball fields and in church. Ryen is a wonderful young man who is faithful to God, his family, and friends. Ryen believes in helping others. For example, each year, Ryen traveled to Mexico with the church youth group to help build houses for those in need. He now serves as youth group leader to younger children at his church. He is a responsible and loving son and brother. Ryen has a passion to serve his community by becoming a fireman. Ryen is a deserving young man, and I moninate Ryen for this scholarship.
I've known Ryen and his family since he was 10 years old. He is a wonderful young man, who is faithful to God, family, and friends. Had the pleausre to watch this young man play baseball with my boys as well as attending church with his family. Ryen is a responsible and loving son and brother. He values his time with his family and helps cared for his younger siblings. He has a passion to help others and his communities. For example, Ryen is a youth group leader at our church, providing mentorship to middle schoolers. Each summer, Ryen traveled to Mexico with the church youth group to build homes for those in need. Ryen has a passion to serve his communities by becoming a fireman. He has started this process doing ride-alongs with firemans. He intends to attend a fire fighter college ater this school year. I believe he is a deserving young man, and I recommend him for the Brookside Optomectic Group Scholarship. I beleive this scholarship will asssit him with college tuitions and helps support his passion to become a fireman.
Ryen is one of the best students in Stockton! Ryen has been a close friend for many years and he is one of those all around good people that are always there for you, and you are never hesitant to be there for him. Between sports and church Ryen is always willing to volunteer for leadership and is just a good person. I believe that Ryen has a bright future ahead of him!!
I have been acquainted with Ryan for several years. He is a leader amongst his peers demonstrating true integrity and compassion for others. He is fully committed to serving, understanding service is not just a calling but a purpose. Ryen is dependable and can always be relied upon when asked. It is an honor to know Ryen and to be able to recommend him for the Brookside Optometric Group Scholarship.
Ryen is a first-class young man and definitely a worthy candidate for this scholarship.
Whoever has to choose between all of these recipients I would strongly advocate for Ryen.
Here’s why: If this scholarship is not merely a basis of strong education but also about contributions to the greater good of society, then Ryen should be near the top of that list.
In fact, selflessness and service are values that I’ve personally witnessed from Ryen. So do yourself a favor and invest in the future of a greater good, because there’s no doubt Ryen will be a leader of that in his life.
